About our foodbank

Here is an introduction to our project.

Fylde Foodbank received charitable status on 29th May 2014 and officially opened its doors on 30th September 2014. It was developed under the auspices of Churches Together in Kirkham and District and is part of the national Foodbank network seeded by the Trussell Trust.

The foodbank became fully operational from new premises at the Church Road Methodist Centre, St Alban’s Road, St Anne’s.  These new premises allowed us to operate the Warehouse and Office whilst providing space to meet and work with clients. These premises complimented the original small space in the Citizens Advice building at Kirkham from where the foodbank had been operating since the original vision back in September 2013.

Due to development work at Church Road Methodist Centre, in November 2017 we moved to premises at Fylde Borough Council, Clifton Drive South, St Anne’s.  Grateful thanks to all at Fylde Borough Council who made us most welcome.

The move to Fylde Borough Council offices was only a temporary measure. We’re pleased to say we now have a permanent home in The Annex at the United Reformed Church, St George’s Road, St Anne’s.

We operate from three centres on different days of the week – United Reformed Church in St Anne’s, Citizen Advice offices in Kirkham together with an on-call system in Warton.

Fylde Foodbank continues to fulfil the aims of providing food to people and families in crisis. Through the abundant generosity of people in the area, the foodbank continues on a sound operational and financial basis.
